HEART OF AMMAN

2026

Explores the hidden relationship between the city and its lost water. Through research on the Amman Stream and its connection to the Nymphaeum, the project traces how water once shaped the life, geography, and identity of downtown Amman before the stream was buried and gradually forgotten. Combining visual research and archival materials, the work documents the transformation of the Amman Stream from the moment of its backfilling to today. The installation invites visitors to reconsider their relationship with water and with the cities they inhabit, while exploring the textures of Amman, its surfaces, materials, and sensory memory to imagine a new tactile identity for the city, and to reflect on what Amman was, what it is, and what it might become. presented at Image Festival.
